219. Western forecasts of Russia’s future. Ed. by M.G. Nosov and others. Reports of the IE RAS, ¹ 219, M., 2008.

Annotation

Western concepts about Russia's future are shaped on the basis of perceptions of current situations in the country, as well as on the stable stereotypes of Russia and Russians accumulated for a long period of mutual relations. Forecasts in politics are quite unreliable and very rare can be a basis for taking serious political decisions. At the same time from the point of building country's image analysis of forecasts which are in a way a view from outside presents invaluable materials for understanding and possible corrections of concrete policy of the state and formation of its image. Vision of the situation by those who accept the policy of the state and those who are not give a chance to get stereoscopic section of the situation.
