208. Foreing investments and
problems of innovative development of Russian economy. Part I. Ed.
by A.A. Maslennikov and others. Reports of the IE RAS, 208, Ì., 2008.
Annotation
The book comprises the results
of international capital movement research, conducted in the Center
for monetary and financial problems of Institute of Europe, RAS
during 2001-2007. Russia's entry into the world economy opens great
possibilities for its faster development as a part of global
economic organism. But this entry poses new problems, which can only
be solved based on experience of the most successful countries with
due understanding of historical, social and structural peculiarities
of Russian economy. Authors point that the enormous natural and
partly wasted, but still not completely lost scientific potential of
Russia makes it a very attractive field of activity for foreign
investors. However, proper realization of such attractiveness is
impossible without active state regulation and smart use of all
means influencing investment processes, including structural
reforms, monetary policy, legislature, improvement of
administration and management etc. The book underlines that, taking
into account modern globalization and peculiarities of financial and
economic situation in Russia, the country does not need foreign
investment inflow as such. Instead, Russia needs to work out ways
and means of attracting leading technologies, scientific and
technical know-how for shifting its economy to innovative way of
development. |
