Annotation
The collective monograph of
Russian and foreign scientists is prepared by the Centre for
Religious and Social Studies of the Institute of Europe, Russian
Academy of Sciences. This publication is aimed to help overcome the
stereotypes of the past and determine limits of the possible
cooperation within the geographic space of the «Big Europe». In this
context special efforts were made to analyse new tendencies in the
evolution of the religious-political situation in the Russian
Federation and to reveal the interdependence and interpenetration of
religious and other factors in the public life.
Side by side with theoretical
generalizations the authors of the study formulate several practical
recommendations on socially important issues linked to the formation
of the image of Russia. The collective study displays the
conclusions of those who participated in the scientific-practical
conference devoted to the theme of this study, which took place in
the Institute of Europe in December 2006, as well as the information
of the Russian Ministry of Justice on the composition and number of
religious associations, according to the Federal Registration
Service by January 1, 2007. |
