V.P. Fyodorov. THE COLLAPSE OF EUROPE?
(One of Possible Future Scenarios). Reports of the Institute of
Europe of RAS. № 167.
Moscow 2005.
ANNOTATION
This work discusses one of the possible scenarios
of the future of Europe. The stability of the European states is
threatened by immigration, which appears to be irreversible. The
inhabitation of Europe by immigrants from other parts of the world
changes its social atmosphere considerably, national and religious
conflicts arise, demonstrations and counterdemonstrations are taking
place, national identity of states is being damaged. The title
nation is no longer the master in her own house. The spiral-like
elevation of events cannot be stopped, and it means shifts from bad
to worse. First, the irreversible changes take place in the society,
then in the state.
Very similar processes will be taking place in
Russia. In such conditions the author believes that it makes sense
to conduct the policy of equidistance from both Europe and Asia.
Special attention should be paid to his idea of the necessity of
moving the capital of Russia from Moscow much farther to the East,
for instance, to Krasnoyarsk. This could give a major impulse to the
development of our remote territories and inflow of capital and
labor thereto. |
