ANNOTATION
International "round table" was held in the
Institute of Europe Russian Academy of Sciences on March 23, 2005.
The "round table" was organized by the Institute of Europe RAS and
by Adenauer Foundation (FRG). The discussion was attended by Russian
specialists in Germanic studies, scientists of the Institute of
Europe RAS, Institute of World Economy and Policy RAS, Institute of
World Economy and Political Studies RAS. politicians and experts
from Russia and FRG. The principal subjects of the discussion were
the problems and prospects of political and economic development of
modern Germany and Russian-German relations. The "round table" was
opened by academician N.P. Shmelev. Deputies of Bundestag Fritz
Erich and Fux Michael made their speeches.
Presentation of the- German book "Russia Under Putin;
The Way Without Democracy Or The Russian Way To Democracy?" was
held. Along with German experts, famous Russian scientists took part
in its creation. The participants showed interest in this book, even
its conclusions are not undeniable and need further discussions. |
