ANNOTATION

Two the papers, written by the leading researchers of the Institute of Europe Dmitriy Danilov and Yury Borko, are dedicated to the current stage and prospects for the development of Russia -EU relations. They analyze reasons and incentives, which impelled both the actors to develop their cooperation in the accordance with the concept of the strategic partnership. Various difficulties and obstacles for implementing this concept are analyzed as well. Both the authors examine main task and fields of EU - Russia interaction in external security and economy. The special attention is paid to the prospects of achieving two strategic goals of partners - to create, thanks to the joint efforts, the Common area of external security and the Common economic area in Europe.
